After a Bachelor’s degree in 1988 and a Master’s degree in 1990 in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, I moved to California for a PhD degree at the University of Southern California. Before the PhD program started I found employment as a software engineer at NewGen Systems Corporation in Fountain Valley where I worked until 1992.

In 1992 I left the States for employment with Cyta, the Cypriot telecom incumbent. Cyta is a classic telecom company with mobile, fixed, TV, network, internet and cloud services.

At Cyta, I was lucky enough to work with a lot of projects from different positions in the IT Department. At different points in my career I was responsible for networking, office automation, mainframe operations, database administration, software development, system integration, system analysis, system design and system architecture.

In 2007, I left the IT Department and moved to the Marketing Department with the task of setting up the Cyta Cloud Services Department. The Cyta Cloud Services Department went on to develop a services portfolio of more than 20 SaaS solutions for the Cypriot SME market. The cloud services solutions were developed with partners like Microsoft, Cisco, Sage Pastel, SAP and other Cypriot ISVs and solution providers.

As part of my business development efforts, I have attended several TV and Radio shows talking about new products and services. I have also presented at several local and international conferences (“BIS 2014 International Conference on Business Information Systems”, “4th Exhibition and Conference on Information, Technology & Telecommunications, 2014”, “Business Practices 2007”, “CARDET 2007”, “Design Matters 2002”, “eCities 2009”, “2nd Information and Communication Conference 2007”, “IMH eCommerce 2009”, “Infocom CY 2013”, “Microsoft Cyprus Momentum 2008”, “Microsoft EMEA Hosting Club, Madrid, 2010”).

In 2008, I went back to university and two years later I completed my MBA at the University of Nicosia.

After 22 years at Cyta, I decided to explore new opportunities by setting up my own company. The company, Novum International, was set up in 2014.
